Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana is a target for AS Monaco, report Sky in Italy. That would be Lyon, of course—the French club that placed—placed!—third in Ligue 1 a year ago. They are reported to be in negotiations over the details of a deal for the 29-year-old shot-stopper. Onana’s future at Old Trafford now looks very much in doubt. This advancement comes in light of his up and down play since arriving to the club.
Onana signed for Manchester United from Inter Milan for a fee of £47.3m in July 2023. With 101 appearances in all competitions during his two full seasons with the club, he is undoubtedly a fan favorite. Most importantly for this piece, he was the architect behind Manchester United’s FA Cup triumph in his debut season. In his second season, though, his starting spot was endangered. He started in only one of the last four Premier League fixtures, with Altay Bayindir starting in those matches ahead of him.
Onana got off to an impressive start with United. A string of notable blunders have surfaced, calling into doubt his command and dependability. Now speculation is raging over a potential move this summer. AS Monaco have proven to be a legitimate player for the goalkeeper’s services.
