Middlesex have confirmed the successful loan signing of Kent paceman Nathan Gilchrist on deadline day. He’ll be available to them for the rest of the One-Day Cup. Gilchrist boasted an incredible strike rate of 28 wickets from just 27 List A appearances. He will be out of contention to face the Kent Spitfires on Tuesday, August 19. His impressive average of 36.53 in List A cricket makes him a candidate to have an immediate impact on the team. They’ll be looking forward to a strong showing against Durham in their next fixture Wednesday.
Middlesex’s director of cricket, Alan Coleman, expressed enthusiasm about Gilchrist’s addition to the squad. He described the need to balance workloads for bowlers given the injury crisis within their squad at present.
