Middlesbrough Cancels Press Conference Amid Wolves Interest in Edwards

Middlesbrough Football Club have retracted hopeful head coach Rob Edwards’ first scheduled press conference. This decision leads to fresh questions over his long-term interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers. Edwards’ successful playing and coaching career with Wolves Most recently, this summer he played an essential role in the hard-fought appointment of Irishman, Michael Carrick, as Middlesbrough boss. Since taking over he has already rocketed the team to third place in the Championship.

Edwards joined Wolves in 2004 as a player, making well over 100 appearances before retiring in 2008. This wasn’t the end of his association with Wolves. After his retirement, he came back to the club in 2014, first moving into a coaching role with the U18s. His commitment and know-how earned him a promotion to the senior side in 2015.
