Mark Andrews Aims for Redemption in New Season

All-pro Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews anxious to turn the page. The 28-year-old is looking to put behind him a difficult year in which he consistently underwhelmed. In 2024, that number dropped to 39.6 receiving yards per game, his lowest total since his rookie season in 2018. Then everything fell apart and so did production. This downward spiral came to a head in the middle of an important fourth-quarter match-up against the Buffalo Bills in which he muffed the ball and forfeited a game-tying two-point conversion attempt.

The steep struggles of Andrews have drawn considerable attention, especially after a one-and-done playoff loss eight months ago. In that game, he failed to secure another two-point conversion that would have equalized the score with only 1:33 left on the clock. Since then, social media has been filled with vitriol and blame for the star player.

Even with those disappointments, Andrews has continued to be an anchor on the Ravens’ roster. In his seven seasons with quarterback Lamar Jackson, he has year-in and year-out been Jackson’s most productive target. Last year, Andrews led all TEs with a wow-worthy 11 TDs. That accomplishment made him tied for the second-most touchdown receptions in a single season by a Panther.

Now 29, and with an NBA career already filled with adversity, Andrews understands that resilience is key to success in professional sports. Asked how he intends to go beyond his recent losses, he said,

“I’m a pro; this is what I do.”

In addition to Harbaugh, offensive lineman Ronnie Stanley voiced confidence in Andrews’ character. He noted,

“At the end of the day, this is a new season.”

As the new season approaches, Andrews is determined to reclaim his place as one of the premier tight ends in the league. His ability to rebound from adversity will be a thing to be seen by fans and analysts as well. With a fresh start on the horizon, Andrews aims to demonstrate that he remains an integral part of the Ravens’ success.

“He’s been doing this for a long time.”

Offensive lineman Ronnie Stanley also expressed faith in Andrews’ character. He noted,

“I know the type of competitor Mark is, and he’s not going to let one moment [or] one bad thing [that] happen to set him back.”

As the new season approaches, Andrews is determined to reclaim his place as one of the premier tight ends in the league. His ability to bounce back from adversity will be closely watched by fans and analysts alike. With a fresh start on the horizon, Andrews aims to demonstrate that he remains an integral part of the Ravens’ success.
