At that point, they tried to get themselves back in the game by pressing upfield and going more directly in attack. Liverpool’s defense remained resolute, thwarting Palace’s attempts to penetrate their backline.
An additional four came in the second half as Liverpool acted like it was a practice drill. The team’s midfielders exhibited excellent ball control and passing accuracy, facilitating numerous attacks that kept the pressure on Crystal Palace. In the 62nd minute, Liverpool’s third goal came from Virgil van Dijk, who headed in a corner kick, amplifying their advantage.
Even after going a goal down, Crystal Palace showed that they never knew when to quit. They were able to pull one back with a well-placed shot from Eberechi Eze in the 75th minute. This moment greatly reinvigorated the visiting supporters and provided Palace a great hope as they continued to push toward a third goal.
