Liverpool Set to Make Formal Offer for Isak as Transfer Talks Heat Up

Newcastle United expect to receive a formal telephone offer this week from Liverpool for Swedish striker Alexander Isak. The 25-year-old forward has captured the imagination of the Merseyside club, who are eager to add more firepower to their attack. Isak’s impressive performances in the Premier League have positioned him as a key target for Liverpool’s recruitment strategy.

Reports have emerged that Isak’s arrival to Liverpool would help to significantly transform the attack line before the start of next season. The soon-to-be Swedish international has made an immediate impact since joining Newcastle on loan, showing he can both score goals and create them. His versatility and skill set make him an attractive option for Liverpool, who continue to seek valuable additions to their squad.

Beyond the trailblazing news regarding Isak, a lot of other transfer action is taking place within the Premier League. Meanwhile, Burnley is said to be keen on bringing in Wolves’ Sam Johnstone, the English keeper. Burnley are reportedly already in the market to replace keeper James Trafford. He’s set to sign with Manchester City after a breakthrough 2019 season.

James Trafford, a 22-year-old English talent, has attracted attention from top clubs, prompting Burnley to seek a suitable replacement in Johnstone. The latter’s experience and capability between the posts could provide Burnley with the stability they seek during the upcoming campaign.

On the other end of the negotiating table, Manchester United is working hard to sign Idrissa Gueye, the Metz star. The club reportedly plans to beat Brentford to the punch in securing the competition for the midfielder’s signature. Strongly defensive Gueye would provide some much needed depth to United’s midfield options.

Aston Villa continues to chase Dominic Calvert-Lewin. The English international is a free agent after recently being released by Everton. Such is Calvert-Lewin’s availability, it has piqued the interest of multiple clubs. AC Milan and Newcastle United are two of the clubs apparently very keen on expanding their attacking arsenal.

As the summer transfer window heats up, clubs keep a watchful eye on their targets with each other and deals becoming starker and starker. If there’s one thing we know this calamitous pandemic season, it’s that the next few days should be very fun and exciting for all of us.
