The Milwaukee Bucks have announced that nine-time NBA All-Star Damian Lillard is now listed as questionable for Tuesday’s Game 2 against the Indiana Pacers. Lillard went through his first full practice on Thursday. Moving to the positive side of the ledger, this update has fans buzzing about Kyrou’s potential return after being sidelined since mid-November with a blood clot in his right calf.
Lillard has missed action since March 18. He ended up missing the Bucks’ 117-98 blowout loss to the Pacers in Game 1 of their playoff series. His absence is due to being recently diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis. He does need treatment and is having to take blood-thinning medication in the meantime. He was only recently cleared of the condition, and he has stopped taking the medication. This overdue change has helped him begin the reconditioning process necessary to return to competitive play.
Through 58 games this season, Lillard has posted 24.9 points and 7.1 assists per game. His scoring has proven to be an indispensable weapon for the Bucks. During last year’s playoffs, for example, he averaged a scintillating 31.3 points on 48.1 percent shooting, plus 5.0 assists and 3.3 rebounds. The Bucks’ offense will be more than happy to get Lillard used to their lineup as they look to go further in the postseason than last year’s early exit.
The announcement of Lillard’s questionable status was made by the Bucks on Monday, leaving fans and analysts alike speculating on his potential impact should he take the court. Still, the team has reason to be cautiously optimistic about Lillard’s return. They’re smartly more concerned with keeping him in condition after his lengthy layoff.
