The best efforts of their bowlers could only see Durham end their innings at 132 for 8, 18 runs short of Lancashire’s target.
Tammy Beaumont spectacularly spearheaded the campaign against The Blaze. The star of the show was young Smriti Mandhana who scored a blistering 81 runs off just 44 balls. She smacked 11 boundaries and three maximums in her innings. This was crucial for The Blaze as they pursued a daunting goal of 189. Heather Graham was the engine room of Beaumont’s side, smashing an unbeaten 34 runs from 21 balls. On the other hand, Bess Heath gave an impactful performance, scoring a belligerent 45 off just 27 balls with six fours. The Blaze were able to do just that, reaching their goal in the end, finishing at 190 for 3 with a ball to spare.
