Kieron Bowie made an immediate impact on his Scottish Premiership debut for Hibernian. He scored both goals, carrying his team to a very exciting 2-1 upset against powerhouse Dundee. Bowie was instrumental to this attack-minded strategy, constantly looking to extend his team’s lead. His contributions rose above that. The Cup win over Dundee came after an exhausting 120-minute European battle against Midtjylland in the Europa League. This Herculean struggle happened only days before the victory. After being introduced as a second-half sub in the last match, Bowie returned to the starting lineup this time out against Dundee. He proved his metal and skills under duress and the bright lights. His performance this weekend further illustrated how essential he’s become for the team both dealing with the rigors of an MLS and CCL schedule.
Though Bowie went on to perform his magic, Dundee grabbed an equaliser in the second half, making for a tense Hibs’ finale. They dug in to ensure that they take all three points with rendition, largely thanks to Bowie’s early double-hit.
