John Harbaugh Limits Future Interviews Following Challenging Ravens Tenure

As John Harbaugh, the recently retired head coach of the Baltimore Ravens can attest, it can get quite hard. It would be a path of both victories and setbacks. At 63 years old, he leaves behind an incredible legacy within the NFL. He led the Ravens to their most recent Super Bowl championship in 2012, gaining legendary respect in the process. His recent seasons have raised questions about the team’s trajectory, as they advanced past the divisional round only once in the last 13 years.

In his short term with the Ravens, Harbaugh has crafted a Hall of Fame coaching career. His record of 193 wins and losses, including playoffs, puts him 12th on the all-time NFL coaching wins list. During his time there, he guided the Ravens to six AFC North titles and two No. 1 seeds. He led the team to four AFC Championship Games, proving that he could consistently position his team to play at the highest level.

Harbaugh had an uphill battle in the last few seasons. He endured only three losing seasons since taking the helm in 2008: in 2015, 2021, and 2025. In fact, in each of those years, the starting quarterback missed no fewer than four games. Its absence was deeply felt on the field. Those struggles came to a head with a disappointing season last year, forcing him out of the organization at the end of the year.

After Harbaugh was let go, as expected, his agent, Bryan Harlan, was flooded with immediate interest from NFL teams. In less than 45 minutes, seven teams had made it known that they wanted to interview Harbaugh for their open coaching vacancies. In response to this interest, Harbaugh plans to narrow his options to around three or four teams before engaging in discussions.

As one of eight coaches in NFL history to coach over 300 games with a single team, Harbaugh leaves a substantial legacy in Baltimore sports history. He has the unique honor of being the overall longest-tenured coach in the franchise’s history. Over the course of his career, he has steadfastly established himself an unwavering resolve for fortitude and prosperity.
