Several teams are in contention to acquire Butler's talents. Houston is positioned as a frontrunner due to its financial flexibility, tradable contracts, and draft assets, all of which align with Butler's preferences. The Spurs, on the other hand, have unique leverage in that they do not need to part with multiple first-round picks to secure Butler.
The trade landscape is competitive, with Dallas having already maneuvered role players to acquire Butler while Miami received Brandon Ingram as a replacement.
