Jake LaRavia Joins Los Angeles Lakers on Two-Year Deal

Jake LaRavia has signed – – 2 years, $12 Million with the Los Angeles Lakers. This move represents the biggest free agency addition to the team’s roster in terms of salary. The entire deal is guaranteed. This has LaRavia set up to be a strong contributor in the Lakers’ rotation for 2023-24. Agents Aaron Reilly and Reggie Berry of AMR Agency were able to expertly negotiate the contract for these workers.

LaRavia was the 19th overall pick of the 2022 NBA Draft. After a brief stint with the Sacramento Kings, he showed his NBA-worthy talent in a small sample size. LaRavia appeared in 19 games for Sacramento. He didn’t score a ton with his 6.1 points per game but he did show his shooting prowess as he was able to connect on 38.5% from deep. His production exploded toward the end of last season. That remarkable turnaround was enough to land him yet another chance with the Lakers.

The forward’s arrival is expected to fill the gap left by Dorian Finney-Smith in the Lakers’ lineup. More than anything else, LaRavia’s skill set fits exactly what the team needs, especially as they look to improve an overall putrid offensive attack. His shooting prowess from deep would offer what is sorely needed in a guy like Nikola Jokić and Jamal Murray — floor spacing for teammates to operate.

LaRavia’s signing is a big deal for the Lakers. They are clearly intent on doing whatever it takes to blood a competitive new roster for next year. By adding a young talent like LaRavia, who has shown promise during his brief career thus far, the Lakers hope to strengthen their position in the league.
