Ja Morant, the star Memphis Grizzlies guard, is missing his sixth consecutive game. He’s out with a strained left hamstring. The Grizzlies are getting ready to take on the Oklahoma City Thunder. Sadly for them, they’ll once again be without one of their star players. Morant is currently averaging 22.3 points per game. He’s been unavailable since then, having last played on March 14 after injuring himself over the course of a game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Fan favorite Ja Morant, who has played in just 43 of the team’s 73 games this season. Outside of injuries ravaging his odds to compete. Despite being listed as day-to-day, Morant’s absence is concerning for the Grizzlies’ playoff aspirations. The decision has certainly paid off, as the team currently sits in fifth place in the Western Conference. They are 2 1/2 games behind the Houston Rockets for the second seed. Getting home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs is still a very much imperative goal for Memphis.
One way or another, Morant’s return is important for the Grizzlies with their sights set on a long playoff run. His scoring ability and leadership on the court have no doubt played a big role in the team’s success all season long. The Grizzlies certainly need him to be at full strength to challenge heavyweights like the Sacramento Kings and Pelicans in the west’s emerging deep playoff run gauntlet.
