Ja Morant Finds His Rhythm: Grizzlies Triumph with Clutch Performance

Ja Morant showcased his undeniable talent on Friday night by hitting a crucial floater that secured a victory for the Memphis Grizzlies. Despite struggling with form and injuries this season, Morant's recent performance was a welcome reminder of his potential. His teammates have continued to support him, encouraging him to keep shooting despite the challenges he has faced.

Morant has not felt like himself this season, battling multiple injuries that have hindered his performance. In late December, he suffered an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder, necessitating surgery. This injury kept him off the court for the final three months of last season. Earlier this season, he missed eight games in November due to a right hip subluxation and associated pelvic strains. These setbacks have contributed to a shooting slump that has seen Morant record career lows in field goal percentage (43.1%) and 3-point shooting (28.4%).

"Yeah, so it was nice to see some baskets go down. Obviously, it's kind what I'm used to."

Despite averaging 20.9 points per game, Morant has struggled with efficiency, making only 7 of 46 3-point attempts (15.2%) in a certain span. The All-Star break marked a particularly difficult stretch for him, exacerbated by ongoing shoulder soreness over the last three-plus months. In light of these challenges, Morant admitted he should have sat out the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder to allow for recovery.

Morant's perseverance was on full display as he expressed relief and joy after sealing the win over the Dallas Mavericks with a decisive 3-pointer.

"To seal the game, I shot a 3. That should show my confidence right there."

His exuberant celebration on the court reflected a sense of vindication and a glimpse of the "old Ja" returning to form. Morant acknowledged his frustrations with the season's challenges but remains committed to improving his game.

"Obviously as a competitor, if you kind of feel like something ain't going your way, you get frustrated."

His struggles have not gone unnoticed by officials either, with Morant noting his dissatisfaction with refereeing decisions while attempting to maintain composure on the court.

"Obviously I've been frustrated, been receiving techs, so just trying to go a different way about it."

Morant's determination to overcome these obstacles speaks volumes about his resilience and dedication to his team. The Grizzlies continue to rally around him, providing the encouragement he needs to regain his confidence.
