The injury occurred during the team’s match against the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday, where he exited the game with 10:50 remaining in the second quarter.
No one will miss Miller more than the Hornets themselves, as they look forward to a matchup with the Miami Heat on Tuesday. He had missed the team’s dazzling 139-113 victory over the Washington Wizards on Sunday already because of this injury, so he was definitely questionable. After more evaluation, the team announced Monday what kind of injury he had, calling it a shoulder subluxation.
In Miller’s unique case, his condition is still under evaluation. The team intends to re-evaluate him once they’re back in Charlotte on October 29th. During his first game of the season against the Brooklyn Nets, Miller put on a show by dropping 25 points. He notably tallied seven assists, wiping away any rookie doubt and quickly asserting himself as an indispensable floor general.
We know Miller’s injury history, which should be a red flag. Last season, he played in 27 games because a torn ligament in his right wrist ended his season. His current situation raises questions about his durability and the impact it may have on his performance throughout the current season.
With a few early season bumps to work through and improve upon still ahead, the Hornets will hope for a speedy return for Miller. The team relies on his skills and presence on the court, especially as they face tough competition in upcoming games.
