Hollywood Brown Signs On with Kansas City Chiefs in 2024: A Fresh Start

Hollywood Brown, a seasoned wide receiver, has joined the Kansas City Chiefs as a free agent in 2024, signing a one-year deal worth up to $11 million. The contract, reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter, marks a new chapter in Brown's career. At 27, Brown brings his expertise and experience to the Chiefs after a challenging period marked by injuries.

Brown's journey to Kansas City follows an eventful stint with the Arizona Cardinals, where he spent two seasons. During his time with the Cardinals, he caught 67 passes for 709 yards in 2022. Prior to that, he was a first-round draft pick by the Baltimore Ravens in 2019, where he played for three seasons before being traded. Throughout his six-year NFL career, Brown has achieved 322 catches for 3,735 yards and 28 touchdowns.

In his recent tenure with the Chiefs, Brown participated in all three of their postseason games. Despite only making five catches for 50 yards, his presence contributed to the team's efforts. He managed to return to play in two regular-season games after undergoing surgery, securing nine catches for 91 yards. Unfortunately, his anticipated potential was curtailed by a sternoclavicular injury sustained while making a catch on the first play of the preseason.

The injury proved to be a significant setback, as Brown hasn't completed a full season since 2021 when he was with the Ravens. His inability to regain his form since then has been notable, yet his determination remains evident. The Chiefs hope that with this new opportunity, Brown can finally realize the promise they once saw in him.
