Harrison Set to Return for Cardinals Against Falcons After Injury Struggles

Here’s everything you need to know about Marvin Harrison Jr.’s NFL debut this Sunday. The newly talented wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals, who had his season ended by a ton of injury woes last year. Harrison had an appendectomy on November 11. This has been compounded by the fact that this season he’s already missed 4 games to injuries, a far cry from his college days where he never missed a game due to injury.

This season has tested Harrison’s resilience. During Week 13, when Arizona played the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he hurt his heel. This peculiar injury led to him missing two games. Since his original appendicitis procedure, he was unable to complete the Tampa Bay game. Now he’s facing even greater uncertainty as far as his playing time goes. Harrison went back to practice on Friday, a good sign for his chances to return to the field.

Harrison was adamant in his desire to help in any way possible, even through an injury plagued season thus far.

“The whole year has been tough, honestly, just how I think what we wanted to be going into this year and kind of where we’re at right now is definitely not what we expected, but the whole year’s been tough.” – Marvin Harrison Jr.

>Head Coach Jonathan Gannon has been impressed with Harrison’s development and that he’s been looking “pretty good” in practice. On a similar note, Gannon added that the staff still has work to do to lay out a plan for how many snaps Harrison should see on Sunday.

Harrison is hopeful that he is on the mend. He describes his sore heel as “good to go” ready for resumption against the Atlanta Falcons. Despite the good news, he still warns that his conditioning and stamina are of concern as he gets ready to put his foot back on the turf.

“But you got to keep going one day at a time and stick to your process.” – Marvin Harrison Jr.

No one has been more important to the Cardinals than their dynamic rookie wide receiver. Harrison’s ability to play in all 17 games as a rookie speaks to his talent, durability and commitment. Despite being hampered by injuries this year, he aims to help his team win and make impactful plays when called upon.
