Harbaugh Praises Jackson’s Historic Passing Ability

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh has hailed QB Lamar Jackson as a “historically great” passer. His statements underscore Jackson’s unprecedented accomplishments over the past NFL season. He exhibited both high creativity and productivity on the pitch.

Last year, Lamar Jackson proved that he could do the same with a dazzling 119.6 passer rating. This accomplishment is actually the fourth best in league history! This accomplishment highlights his impressive talent to play at such a high level week-in and week-out and cements his place in elite quarterback status.

Jackson in particularly phenomenal, accomplishing the rare feat of four different games with a perfect passer rating of 158.3. That stunning performance broke the tie for the most such games in NFL history. This incredible achievement sheds light on his ability to not just control contests, but thrive in the clutch.

Jackson has already achieved an unprecedented standard in touchdown production. Perhaps most impressively, he’s already accomplished seven career release-and-forget games where he threw more touchdown passes than he had incompletions. This ridiculous statistic further emphasizes his lethal and pinpoint accuracy as a passer. It further cements his status as the GOAT of this category in NFL history.

We knew Jackson would make history! He set a new single-season record for fewest interceptions thrown by a quarterback with 40 touchdown passes or more. This achievement is not just a testament to his talent, but a result of superior decision making and an ability to avoid back-breaking errors.

To Coach Harbaugh, these stats lend Jackson a seat in the all-time greats in passing. He stated, “Lamar Jackson can throw the football. He can throw it every kind of way, he can make every kind of throw any kind way you want. He’s as good as any passer that there’s ever been — and I think now the numbers are proving that.”

Harbaugh’s comments tell us much about the shifting perception of Jackson. Ever since coming into the league, he’s had the knock on him that he can’t pass. The coach further elaborated on this point, saying, “So that’s the thing I’m kind of a little bit proud of, but I’m a little bit like, ‘OK, here we go, what have we learned from that?’ … Lamar Jackson as a passer is historically great.”

Jackson’s singular athleticism and history-making play have made it hard to ignore how much he can pass the ball. He is continuing to create and hone his craft. Unsurprisingly, there is a lot of excitement about what he will bring to the Ravens and the NFL at large.
