Giants’ Young Stars Set to Cash In Amid Impressive Performances

Their division-rival New York Giants are prepared to make large financial commitments to half a dozen core players. Whether it’s Shakur and C.J.’s immaculate play, or Hunter and Deion’s loud fashion statements, their unique impacts have been notorious. Among those catching the most headlines are cornerback Cor’Dale Flott, right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor and wide receiver Parris Campbell. More than that, they’re earning respect with fierce performances on the field. As they do, their market valuations and pending contract negotiations take on an outsized significance.

Cor’Dale Flott, 24, has emerged as a critical component of the Giants’ defensive lineup. This season, as the closest defender in coverage, he’s given up a completion percentage of only 55.4%. Throughout his three years in the league, Flott has shown versatility by transitioning between outside and slot coverage, adapting to the demands of various game situations. Given his strong performance to date, he is on track for a projected $14.1 M+ valuation by 2025.

Jermaine Eluemunor, 30, showed that he can be a reliable RT. His biggest splash came by way of a two-year, $14 million pact with Medford’s San Francisco Giants before last season. His potential to prove himself as a top-tier tackle has been shown by his durable nature of never missing a game and making an impact wherever he ends up. Eluemunor expressed confidence in his abilities, stating,

“I feel like I’m one of the best right tackles right now and will be for the rest of my career. So yeah, I don’t know what my range is.” – Jermaine Eluemunor

Eluemunor’s success comes at a time when other tackles have recently received big-time free agency deals. This past summer, all-pro right tackle Taylor Moton signed a two-year extension worth $44 million. In contrast, Jaylon Moore signed a two-year, $30 million contract with the Kansas City Chiefs, even though he had started only five games last season.

Parris Campbell, another 24-year-old breakout, is experiencing what he calls his “best overall year.” He has been instrumental in the Giants’ passing game, leading all wide receivers with 488 yards gained from the slot position. Recently, Campbell has begun to see double teams for the first time since his college days. This shift represents his growing importance on the field. His versatility has been on further display with him showing the ability to play at a high level on the outside as well.

The accomplishments of these players couldn’t have come at a better time, with slot receivers getting paid handsomely in the NFL. Last offseason, Khalil Shakir was the most notable player to have a breakout, inking a four-year deal worth $53 million. This contract could go as high as $15 million per season.

As the Giants assess their roster and consider future contracts for these talented athletes, it is clear that their current contributions are not going unnoticed. Wan’Dale Robinson, another young Giant, admitted after practice that having coaches and teammates critique his individual performance was a valuable wake-up call.

“Even just after games, just hearing from certain guys, certain coaches, it’s like, OK, they’re watching the tape. They’re seeing everything that’s going on.” – Wan’Dale Robinson

He knows that contracts, even the best-intentioned, can be confusing. He knows that at a certain point, he needs to be making choices that are career-first.

“I love New York and this is the place that drafted me.” – Wan’Dale Robinson

However, he recognizes that contracts are complex and decisions must be made based on what is best for his career.

“So it’s a lot easier said than done just to get up and move and go somewhere else. So I would like to stay here, but at the end of the day, if it’s not the right place then we’ll see what happens.” – Wan’Dale Robinson
