Giants’ Malik Nabers Faces Possible Torn ACL After Injury

Malik Nabers, the Pro Bowl wideout of the New York Giants, is looking at a possible torn ACL. The huge ACL tear he experienced in August during a RSL match. Before getting hurt after making two catches for 20 yards, forcing him out of the contest where he was said to be leaving visibly demoralized. An MRI is scheduled for today. This scan will ultimately determine just how serious his injury is and how it will affect the remainder of the season.

This season, Nabers has tallied 16 receptions for 251 yards and two touchdowns in just three games. Last year, he proved everyone wrong and established himself as an anchor on a very good Giants defense. During his rookie year, he established a franchise record with 109 catches, 1,204 receiving yards and seven touchdown receptions. Over his first 19 games, he’s piled up 127 catches, proof that he’s making an indelible mark on this league.

New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll spoke to the media about the incident after the game, saying he didn’t currently have any information about Nabers’ injury. Mr. Smith showed concern and empathy for the injured taxpayer saying, “Accidents occur. Obviously not pleased to see that, whether it’s Malik or anyone else. But sadly, this isn’t a business of the hurt, and I hate to see Malik so hurt. We’ll see where it’s at.

Even with questions about Nabers’ status, Daboll noted the need for flexibility on this team. He expressed the need for others to rise to the occasion with potential non-availability. He said, “He’s an integral part of our team, but the guys that play behind him…everybody’s getting paid to do a job.” And it’s next-man up.

Other members of the Giants receiving corps — like Darius Slayton — voiced their support for Nabers after the injury. “I just told him praying for him. We got his back. Just wanted to go and win this game for him,” Slayton said. His message amplified the connection between teammates as they prepare to face what lies ahead.

In the meantime, the Giants are keeping their fingers crossed that updates on Nabers’ injury status come back with a more promising prognosis. At the same time, the team has to adjust and plan for future games with one of their best players sidelined. The implications of these MRI results will likely go a long way towards determining Nabers’ fate this season. They’ll make the Giants adjust their offensive game plans as the season progresses.
