Giants and Raiders Face Off with Draft Implications Looming

Get ready as the New York Giants and the Las Vegas Raiders prepare to clash in an important matchup. This game might very well have a significant impact on their futures in the NFL draft. This Sunday’s matchup in Miami could be equally important for the 0-5 Giants. As it stands now, they have the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft, a spot they haven’t occupied since taking running back Tucker Frederickson out of Auburn in 1965. What makes this matchup so interesting is its potential influence on the draft. It’s a historic moment in the NFL, as it’s the first time that two teams having lost nine consecutive games have played each other during a single season. While both franchises have dealt with truly awful years—worrying for both teams in radically different ways—where each is headed remains an interesting question.

In a post-game presser, Maxx Crosby, the Raiders’ defensive end, was explicit that he doesn’t pay attention to draft position. That responsibility is not in the legislature.

“Yeah, I don’t give a s
