Georgia’s Jalon Walker Alters Pro Day Plans Following Training Injury

Jalon Walker
, Georgia’s standout outside linebacker and a top edge prospect in this year’s draft, has sustained a thigh injury during a training session. The injury, although not serious, has prompted a change in Walker’s pro day plans. Originally set to participate in the Bulldogs’ on-campus pro day, he will now host a private workout for scouts and personnel executives in April.

Walker stands at an imposing 6-foot-1 and weighs 243 pounds, with an impressive armspan of 79⅞ inches. Despite his notable physical attributes, Walker did not participate alongside other edge rushers or linebackers at the recent scouting combine in Indianapolis. Nevertheless, his performance on the field speaks volumes. Last season, Walker recorded 37 tackles, two fumble recoveries, and led Georgia's defense with 10.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks.

The Georgia coaching staff lauded Walker's efforts particularly against Kentucky, crediting him with 10 quarterback hurries in that game alone. His prowess was further underscored by his performance against Texas, where he secured three sacks. These achievements earned him the prestigious Butkus Award as the nation's best linebacker last season.

Ranked as the No. 8 player overall on his latest big board, Walker's draft stock remains strong despite his recent injury. His decision to hold a private workout aims to provide scouts and executives with an exclusive opportunity to evaluate his skills and recovery progress firsthand.
