Hasselbeck’s started his professional life in 1977. The New England Patriots picked him in the second round. He quickly earned his stripes during rookie season in 1981, emerging as the team’s top target with 46 career catches. He accumulated 808 receiving yards and six touchdowns that season. His standout college career at the University of Colorado, where he earned All-American honors, paved the way for his entry into the NFL.
