Kyle Singler, the former professional athlete who made a name for himself playing for National Basketball Association teams like Detroit Pistons and Oklahoma City Thunder. He has since been charged with misdemeanor assault in Oklahoma. The situation apparently unfolded at Singler’s home, with police responding after Singler’s girlfriend called 911.
The Virginia pilot’s case Authorities said Singler’s girlfriend said that he forcefully pinched her head. She alleged he violently tackled her to the ground during a confrontation. In addition, she showed that their small child was there during this episode, which raised more red flags about the domestic environment.
Deputy Mitch Dobbs first arrived on the scene and found her with obvious injuries. He observed finger impressions on her face and strangulation marks on her arm, which supported allegations of physical abuse. Despite the evidence presented, Singler did not cooperate with law enforcement and declined to provide a statement regarding the incident. According to the arrest report, he was acting erratically and officers reported that he appeared to be high on narcotics.
After the incident, Singler was arrested and booked into the Haskell County jail. He was subsequently released on a $6,000 bond. The court actions related to this ground-breaking case are still unfolding.
Kyle Singler, 37, first made his reputation as a Duke freshman in 2009. The Detroit Pistons drafted him 33rd overall in the 2011 NBA Draft. Prior to that, he proved his mettle as a player with Duke University. Singler had an up and down series of seasons with the Pistons. In 2013, he was named to the All-Rookie Second Team. He would go on to spend parts of four seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
