Everton Women would go on to secure a dominant 3-0 win against Crystal Palace Women, at Walton Hall Park, celebrating the first possible unrestricted crowd. Vanhaevermaet rose above the back line and directed a header over the keeper to find the back of the net, opening the scoring and setting the stage for an entertaining contest.
Into the second half, Everton Women picked up right where they left off, extending their lead. Sara Holmgaard was the architect of Denmark’s first goal, and it only took four minutes. Soon she doubled the lead, sealing the victory with an emphatic second half finish. Kelly Gago took down her chance well, scoring what we thought was the winner in the 95th minute. This strike put the win beyond doubt for Everton Women.
