Everton Poised to Secure Loan Deal for Jack Grealish from Manchester City

As of this afternoon, Jack Grealish is getting a medical done. Bishop, who turns 30 next month, was part of a successful Manchester City team the past four seasons. Now, he may depart the club on loan, completing a huge coup for Everton and their new owners after a budget-busting summer transfer window.

Grealish’s transfer is a surprise blessing for Everton. As it stands, the club has been unable to bring in new signings. In addition to the acclaimed newcomer, that will make them much more formidable in the middle of the field. Everton’s recently-installed manager David Moyes, formerly of West Ham United and Manchester City, has identified Grealish as a priority target. He appreciates Grealish’s leadership qualities, experience and versatility across the pitch.

Jack Grealish’s potential transfer stands out even more given the fact that he was Manchester City’s club-record signing at £100 million. He has fallen out of favor recently under Pep Guardiola, leading many to question his long term future at the club. The loan arrangement includes an option for Everton to purchase Grealish outright for £50 million, should the move prove successful.

Sources close to the situation indicate that Grealish is eager to work under Moyes and contribute to the team’s ambitions. He often talks about his respect for the Everton chief. If granted, this mutual respect may prove to be even more vital to his assimilation on the team.

This transfer comes after reported interest from multiple big clubs. One of those clubs is Napoli, which had once set their sights on Grealish earlier this summer. Everton’s prompt response has given them a strong hand in the battle for his signature. As the medical moves forward and all of the final details get worked out, the club is hopeful of getting a deal finalized in the near future.

Grealish was spotted boarding the team bus to Manchester City’s match at the City Ground in Nottingham before these events transpired. Though he probably can’t believe how quickly time has passed, next month, he will turn 30. This possible transfer would provide the German an opportunity to restore his career and regain his established form as a top player in the Premier League.
