Eberechi Eze, the exciting Crystal Palace midfielder, has lived the dream of many young kids chasing a career with a ball at their feet. That vision became a reality on May 17, 2025. This date was an important milestone for Eze’s path, one he had dreamed of since childhood. He thinks back on his amazing journey. He accepts that the work of head coach Oliver Glasner was instrumental in leading Crystal Palace to success.
Eze’s football journey began with some major setbacks. Having joined Southampton, he went through a series of rejections at big clubs including Arsenal, Fulham and Millwall before the age of 18. Through all of these disappointments he kept going and just recently completed his best season yet. In March of this year, he marked his first call-up to the England national team by scoring his first international goal. This accomplishment only served to cement his legacy in the limelight.
The most significant highlight of Eze’s career came when he netted the winning goal in the FA Cup final, leading Crystal Palace to their first major honour in the club’s 163-year history. This accolade accomplished his lifelong dream. It stoked his fire to earn himself a permanent place on the roster. Eze is determined to earn his position daily and believes that Glasner can deliver even more success for the club in the future.
Solomon Eberechi Eze‐One as described Glasner is a fiery coach who is said to have an insane vision for a team. He stated, “He’s a top coach, a top guy; there are big things to come for sure.” Eze is excited about what’s to come, especially with Glasner at the helm. He is full of belief about the extraordinary things the team can do together!
Whatever the specific reasons, it’s clear that Eze is excited about beginning this new chapter in his career. He’s relishing the prospect of next year’s World Cup and the deliciously difficult competition for places in the England squad. He has overcome injuries and a rough start to the season and looks and feels like a player reenergized.
“I’m very excited about England,” Eze said. I’m having a lot of fun playing my football at the moment. I’m in a good place. I’ve come off quite a few injuries and a bit of a weird start to the season, weird middle part of the season as well, so to be in this position now and feeling good, feeling free and able to express myself fully, that’s all I want to be doing.
Eze’s investment in his community goes beyond the gridiron. He’s the founder of the Eze Foundation Invitational. This new initiative provides children and young people the opportunity to participate in playing football at no cost. “We want to give them an opportunity to play football for free and to experience what it’s like being at a club like this, being in an environment like this, and having no worries other than playing football,” he explained.
With aspirations of winning the Premier League, Eze expressed his determination: “Everything there is for me to win, I want to win, and I’ll do anything I possibly can to win the Premier League.” He’s incredibly passionate about developing people and winning as a unit. This enthusiasm underscores his ambition for not only Crystal Palace as a club, but his long-term career with the England national team.
