Faf du Plessis played a pivotal role in the Titans’ success, contributing significantly to their strong batting lineup alongside his captain, Shubman Gill. The bodacious behind-the-scenes duo managed that chase with overwhelming passion and exceptional craft. They ensured that the Titans couldn’t miss their target without losing at least one wicket.
The Capitals found it hard to get anything going all game long. Their skipper, Axar Patel’s call to arms was not enough as his side faltered against the Titans’ fearsome bowling unit. Famous last words… Mustafizur Rahman and Dushmantha Chameera gave excellent support, not allowing the Capitals any opportunity to fully unleash on the scoreboard.
Wicketkeeper Abishek Porel and players like Sameer Rizvi and Ashutosh Sharma demonstrated their skills but could not turn the tide in favor of the Capitals. The bowling unit, spearheaded by Kuldeep Yadav and Thangarasu Natarajan, performed brilliantly to choke runs during opposition innings. Yet even that proved to be insufficient against the downright cruel Titans.
Buttler has long been a terrific wicketkeeper, consistently exhibiting among the best skills behind the stumps. This time, unlike last week, he was unable to prevent the Titans from earning an embarrassing thorough drubbing.
