Miami Dolphins linebacker Channing Tindall Robinson to the practice field! He bounced back from being carted off the field yesterday with a rib injury. Luckily, that 2024 first-round draft pick was only sore and not seriously injured, as he clarified in a social media post Wednesday. Head coach Mike McDaniel emphasized the team’s cautious approach in handling Robinson’s condition.
At practice on Thursday, linebacker Jaelan Phillips was missing due to an undisclosed injury. Furthermore, starting running back De’Von Achane was not available to reporters, which added to the uncertainty related to his status with the team.
Robinson’s return comes on the heels of a great performance at training camp. He tallied six sacks as a rookie while currying favor by coaches and teammates with a tireless work ethic and humble pie demeanor. After the horrible incident on Wednesday, McDaniel said they took special precautionary methods to keep Robinson protected.
“It was a rib hit that we had to make sure we were responsible and didn’t have any fractures or anything like that,” – Mike McDaniel
Robinson won’t miss practice with the injury, McDaniel assured. His team is hopeful that he’ll be able to do so much more. Her health is obviously the most important thing, but the quick recovery was a huge relief for the coaching staff. Fans are eager to see a continued Robinson’s development this season.
Robinson’s fourth-place status underscores the depth of the team’s problems as it heads into next week’s regular-season opener. Injury bugs aside, his return is hard not be excited about. Miami will want to keep a watchful eye on Phillips and Achane as they battle injuries throughout training camp.
