Djokovic Reaches Milestone as He Secures 100th ATP Title at Geneva Open

Even so, Novak Djokovic just made a historic achievement in his storied career on the blue courts of Melbourne. At the ATP singles event in Geneva, he captured his 100th title. The Serbian eclipsed Hubert Hurkacz in a thrilling final, winning 5-7, 7-6, 7-6. Besides the 147 weeks of reign at No. 1, this victory is the greatest sport achievement in Djokovic’s career. It puts him level with legends Jimmy Connors and Roger Federer as one of only three men to win 100 ATP titles in the Open era.

Djokovic, a 24-time Grand Slam winner, displayed resilience and skill throughout the match, overcoming a challenging first set where he failed to convert two break points at 2-2. Even after dropping the first set, he broke back immediately to get the match back on serve at 4-4. In the decisive set, Djokovic had his magic in the tiebreaks. After each player held serve in the second set, he broke Hurkacz four times.

This victory marks a welcome turnaround for Djokovic, who has struggled since winning his 99th title at the 2024 Paris Olympics. His latest appearance, at the Geneva Open turning 38 just days before the final, was a testament to his long-time superstar heart and hotness.

During the post-match celebration, Djokovic paid tribute to his family and support team, thanking them for their encouragement.

“I want to thank my wife and my kids for coming for three days only on the school break, cutting the school for one day, just to be with me,” – Novak Djokovic

He openly took responsibility for the challenges he encountered during the match and gave epic credit to his team for their constant, fierce support.

“My team, the only thing I can say is thank you for being with me in the good times but also in the bad times. Today was very challenging to stay with me on the court because I was going off at you quite a lot … so I want to thank you for staying here and earning with me this victory number 100.” – Novak Djokovic

Now Djokovic has his eyes on the French Open. He might be distracted over there as he tries to win his unprecedented 25th Grand Slam title. His victory in Geneva has now given him a major stepping stone as he prepares for this new challenge.
