Denver Broncos Set to Re-Sign Quarterback Jarrett Stidham

The Denver Broncos plan to re-sign quarterback Jarrett Stidham, who joined the team in 2023 on a two-year, $10 million contract. Stidham has served as a veteran backup to Russell Wilson but gained attention after starting the final two games of the 2023 season when Wilson was benched. As the Broncos prepare for the upcoming season, Stidham has expressed his ambition to become Denver's starting quarterback in 2024.

Stidham's journey in the NFL began as a fourth-round pick by the New England Patriots in 2019. He spent two seasons with the Patriots before moving to the Las Vegas Raiders, where he made two starts in 2022. During those appearances, he threw for 496 yards and two touchdowns, leading the Raiders to a 1-1 record in those games. In 2023, Stidham joined the Broncos and played a pivotal role in the team's quarterback dynamics.

Despite only playing 14 snaps without attempting a pass throughout the 2023 season, Stidham contributed significantly to the team's development. According to Broncos' coach Sean Payton, Stidham played an essential role in the growth of fellow quarterback Bo Nix. Throughout training camp, Stidham found himself in a competitive three-way battle for the starting job with Nix and Zach Wilson. His consistent belief in his ability to be a starter in the league has been a driving force in his commitment and performance.

Stidham's experience totals 19 NFL game appearances, and his consistent determination has fueled his aspiration to lead the Broncos as their starting quarterback. His performance during his two starts for Denver last season highlighted his potential and left a positive impression on the team management.
