DeChambeau and Kaymer Share First-Round Lead at LIV Event

Bryson DeChambeau and Martin Kaymer dominated the headlines on opening day of the LIV Golf event. Unlike the U.S. women, these two veterans left nothing to chance, shooting out of their minds to tie for the lead. DeChambeau’s 5-under-par 66 was matched by Kaymer, putting the two at the top of the leaderboard. The tournament played out at one of the qualifying sites, in Rockville, Maryland. Players fought tooth and nail for limited spots in the tournament.

Marc Leishman, who carded a very respectable 67, is tied for third with five other big names, and it’s anybody’s guess what tomorrow holds. He went on to earn one of four possible qualifying spots at this location, but the heart and passion in his story shines through. Leishman’s impressive showing should leave him feeling confident heading into the competitive field. He’s currently tied with Phil Mickelson, Jon Rahm, Joaquín Niemann, Anirban Lahiri, and Graeme McDowell at the same scores.

Perhaps most exciting, the ever-changing contest leaderboard is a testament to the diverse and deep talent we have. Bubba Watson is causing a ruckus too, currently T-3 at 3 under par alongside Peter Uihlein, Patrick Reed, and Thomas Pieters. Each of these players are hoping to leave their mark in a big way as the tournament continues.

RangeGoats GC leads the team competition at 9 under par. Their skill on the field is a testament to amazing individual talents and superior teamwork in this exciting competition. The first round has finished, but the competition heat has only begun! Players are hungry to make moves up the leaderboard as they head into the final rounds.

“Man, what’s nice is coming out into some soft conditions,” – Bryson DeChambeau

His successful chip shot exemplified his confidence throughout the day.

“That little chip shot became a hell of a lot easier for me. So I just chipped it out to the right exactly what I saw. I don’t know if you saw, but I was studying it before I left. I was like, this looks perfect, came out, still looks perfect, hit it exactly where I wanted it to land, and it went right in the frickin’ hole.” – Bryson DeChambeau

RangeGoats GC leads the team competition at an impressive 9 under par, showcasing both individual and team efforts in this exciting tournament. With the first round concluded, the pressure will mount as players aim to improve their standings in the following rounds.
