The Baltimore Ravens have made a significant addition to their wide receiver lineup by signing DeAndre Hopkins to a one-year deal. Hopkins, known for his remarkable career in the NFL, brings a wealth of experience and skill to Baltimore's rising young receiver group. The move is expected to boost the Ravens' offense, which already boasts the active leader in rushing yards, Derrick Henry.
Hopkins has been a dominant figure in the NFL, topping 100 catches in a season four times and surpassing 1,000 yards on seven occasions. In his latest and most prolific passing season, he set career highs with 4,172 yards and 41 touchdown passes. Despite being slowed by a knee injury at the start of training camp, he managed to make substantial contributions with Kansas City, catching 41 passes for 437 yards and four touchdowns in 10 games.
Joining the Ravens marks an exciting chapter for Hopkins, who has long admired two-time NFL MVP Lamar Jackson, calling him "one of the greats" earlier this year. On the "I Am Athlete" podcast, Hopkins expressed his admiration for Jackson's talent.
"I would be lying to sit here and say it wouldn't be an honor one day to play with a great guy and a great quarterback like Lamar."

Hopkins' career stats are impressive. He ranks 16th all time in catches, 21st in receiving yards, and is tied for 26th in touchdowns. His record includes leading the league in touchdown catches with 13 in 2017 while with the Houston Texans. However, last season saw his lowest total in catches for a full season since his rookie year in 2013, pulling in just 56 receptions.
Despite these challenges, Hopkins remains a formidable player. In three postseason games last year, he added three receptions for 29 yards and a touchdown. His presence alongside emerging talents like Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman is expected to invigorate Baltimore's wide receiver corps.
