David Gray Agrees to Contract Extension at Hibernian Following Impressive Season

David Gray, the manager of Scottish club Hibernian, has signed a new three-year deal. He’s extended until 2028 at Easter Road now. This announcement comes on the heels of his recent selection as Premiership manager of the month for March. Notably, this is the third time he has received this honor this season. Under his stewardship, Hibs have recovered from a disastrous opening few months to the season. They are currently on a phenomenal 17-match unbeaten run, equalling a post-war club record!

Callum Gray took over at Hibernian last summer after the sacking of Lee Johnson. Since then, his emphasis on adaptability and evolution in strategy has helped the team gain tremendous confidence. Even some of their younger players are shining. His tactical genius has led Hibs to impressive wins over league leaders Celtic, Rangers, as well as local rivals Hearts.

At only 36 years old, Gray has already made history with the club. He had 177 playing appearances for Hibernian. This experience provides him with a deep understanding of the club’s culture and expectations for his new coaching role. Gray’s dedication and efforts have indeed caught the eyes of those in charge, with Malky Mackay recently talking about how pleased he was about Gray’s commitment.

“I am delighted that David, and his staff have extended their commitment to our club, and they thoroughly deserve their new contracts. David is a terrific ambassador and leader for our team and this club and his staff have worked tirelessly to help Hibs succeed.” – Malky Mackay

Gray’s coaching staff, including Eddie May, Liam Craig, and Craig Samson, have agreed to contract extensions, ensuring continuity in Hibernian’s coaching approach. People on Gray and his staff have worked together almost around the clock. Their collaboration has fostered a tough-minded, relentless team and ignited a remarkable turnaround this season.

Gray stated, “There have been ups and downs this season, but the turnaround we’ve had is due to everyone’s hard work. The players and the staff have worked tirelessly to get us in the position we’re in heading into the split.”
