Young had a tough go in his first two seasons, but he has returned with a vengeance. Under Canales, he has an impressive 8-6 record as a starter in 2025. NFL executives who know each of them well see similarities between Canales and Carroll. “Listening to Pete and listening to Dave, it really is the same,” one executive remarked. That murky back and forth is a good sign, as it means Canales has taken whatever wisdom Carroll imparted but personalized and owned it.
