A really strong run would be good to join the Cowboys at a healthy overall 11 wins.

The NFC East has been one of the most competitive divisions all-season long. With the Philadelphia Eagles now pulling ahead in the NFC East, they’re set to be the first team since those same 2003-04 Eagles to win consecutive division titles. The Eagles have hit the canvas recently, having lost three games in a row and sitting at 8-5. On the flip side, the Cowboys must do their utmost going forward in order to stay in contention.

Remaining Schedule and Challenges

Dallas Cowboys, very difficult In short, the path to the playoffs is clear. All while they have a gauntlet of difficult matchups ahead of them for their last six. The biggest test will be the second of those, as the record-0 Las Vegas Raiders visit Waco on Sept. 26. The season ends with back-to-back games against the Washington Commanders.

That’s right… in order for the Cowboys to take the NFC East, they would need to win out. Thirdly, they need lucky breaks from other contenders around the league. The San Francisco 49ers lead the NFC West with an impressive 8-2 record in conference play, potentially allowing three teams from that division to make the playoffs.

The Cowboys know there are things beyond their control that will affect their playoff fate. They need to be aware of what their competition is doing, with an eagle’s eye on the rest of the NFC North. The Green Bay Packers are riding a strong wave at 7-2-1 and the Chicago Bears are red hot at 6-3.

Playoff Picture and Scenarios

Currently, the playoff landscape remains competitive. With the NFC North almost certain to take at least one wild-card spot, that adds a second layer of pressure for the Cowboys. And even if they are able to claim a wild-card spot, they’ll require the Bears’ 6–3 season to come unstuck over the final six matches.

Outside of their control, the Cowboys need some help to make the playoffs. In short, like all other teams in contention, they must keep winning their remaining games. On top of that, they’re relying on the Bears to drop their final three games.

Coach Schottenheimer is getting his squad prepared for these important match ups. Most importantly, he emphasizes the importance of taking it one game at a time where they’re at today.

The players will need to be in good health and optimal performance condition to make it through this grueling stretch.

Coach Schottenheimer understands how much riding on player safety as they wheel through this turn of history and necessity.
