Curry Shines Bright with 46 Points in Victory Over Spurs

Wednesday Stephen Curry lit up the court in an unforgettable display of skill. He got 46 of ‘em, and it was enough to push the Golden State Warriors past the San Antonio Spurs, 122-120. Curry has just scored his second consecutive victory over the Spurs! This victory celebrates his remarkable talent and perseverance after overcoming an ailment that sidelined him for three games.

After the game, it was clear why Curry’s scoring ability was on full display, and he took advantage of chances to get to the free-throw line. He hit a ridiculous 15 of 16 from the charity stripe, helping him pile up 33 points overall. So far this season, he’s sporting a stunning 94.7% free-throw percentage. Converting on two-thirds of his successful shots (66 out of 70), he’s poised to lead the league in this category for the sixth time in his career!

The Warriors’ star guard showed off his distinct, off-the-dribble shooting prowess, pouring in 28 of his 40 points on jumpers off the bounce. This was his most in a single game since 2015, showcasing just how good he’s been. Curry’s comeback to the court would be a difficult one. It’s not as if in his first game back from illness that he was somehow able to score just 13 points.

It was a brilliant night filled with many of the incredible scoring talents that make Curry so unique. During his amazing stretch, he matched basketball great Michael Jordan for the most 40-plus point games since age 30. It was the 43rd time in his career that he’s reached the 40-point mark. Now, he’s just one away from Jordan’s league-record total of 44.

Curry said he never shares his experiences in Chicago. He reminisced about his scoring accomplishments and paralleled them to the basketball legend.

Despite a less efficient outing in his first game back, Curry appeared fresh and energized during both contests against the Spurs. His last few starts indicate he’s resumed the right path. He scored 40+ points in back-to-back games for the first time since 2022.

In addition to his scoring feats, Curry’s contributions were pivotal in securing the Warriors’ second straight victory in San Antonio. His ability to create contact for fouls and make free throws was especially important in such a closely fought game.

Curry’s performance exemplifies not only his individual talent but his ability to elevate the team’s play, particularly after facing adversity with recent health issues.
