Craig Miles, our experienced seam bowler, has officially re-signed with Gloucestershire. He will start his three-year deal at the conclusion of this season. The 30-year-old all-rounder moved to Warwickshire in 2019. He’s looking forward to coming back to the club where he had such a successful eight-year run.
Miles made his debut for the county almost 12 years ago, taking a stunning 313 wickets on his first-class debut for Gloucestershire. In 2021, he produced an incredible season for Warwickshire. He finished with 37 wickets at a remarkable average of 21.81. His batting form during that season was instrumental in guiding the Bears to the County Championship crown that year.
Miles said, “I’m absolutely buzzing to be coming back to Gloucestershire.”
At the minute, Miles is seeing out his last year-long deal with Warwickshire, for whom he has played plenty in all formats this summer. He played six matches in the T20 Blast for Warwickshire. Five wickets to take in that tournament—boom!
Mark Alleyne, head coach of Gloucestershire, said he was hopeful that Miles would return to action. He stated, “I very much look forward to welcoming Craig back to Bristol.” With that experience and skill, without a doubt, bolstering what promises to be a strong Gloucestershire bowling attack, this sentiment underlines Miles’ value.
Miles will officially be able to join his new teammates in Bristol on November 1. Please note that this story was written prior to a specific announcement. His experience and expertise is set to play an important role in shaping the future performances of Gloucestershire.
