Cooper Flagg Leads the Charge in NBA Draft Lottery Results

Just like the NBA draft lottery would have a big impact for teams hoping to improve their rosters. The Dallas Mavericks were the real life winners, taking home the lottery with 1.8% odds. This win now puts them in the position to take Cooper Flagg. We know he’s a generational talent who’s left jaws agape with his highlights on the college basketball scene.

Cooper Flagg’s accolades are impressive. For four years on the court, he earned virtually every major national player of the year award. This accomplishment speaks to his great talent and tremendous performance. Over the course of the season, he averaged 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game. From that moment on, he was instrumental in guiding the Blue Devils’ unexpected run to the Final Four. With this accomplishment, he continued to establish himself as one of the premier prospects.

After the Mavericks the next team in line to receive the second overall pick was the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs had been spoiled, winning each of the past two seasons’ rookies of the year, Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle. They’ll need to try to keep this trend going, possibly by adding another new impact player in this year’s draft.

This means the Philadelphia 76ers—who will have the third pick—will definitely have an opportunity to add a franchise-changing talent to their roster. In the East, the Charlotte Hornets will pick fourth and in the West, the Utah Jazz will pick fifth. If the Washington Wizards manage to stay above the play-in cutoff, they’ll have the sixth pick. The New Orleans Pelicans and Brooklyn Nets will pick at seventh and eighth, respectively.

The Toronto Raptors at ninth will be the last team into the top ten, with the Houston Rockets holding that 10 th and final selection. With the Portland Trail Blazers having the eleventh pick and the Chicago Bulls twelfth. The Atlanta Hawks will select thirteenth, and the San Antonio Spurs, having secured two picks this year, will choose fourteenth.

Most teams are already focused on next year’s draft. They’ll leave no stone unturned, break down every possible option, particularly on players such as Cooper Flagg. His incredible run through the college ranks has scouts and executives drooling.
