Clemson Defensive Tackle Peter Woods Declares for NFL Draft

Massive Clemson University standout defensive tackle Peter Woods has officially declared for the 2026 NFL Draft. This decision brings to a close his highly successful three-year term with the Tigers. The 6-foot-3, 310-pound lineman has since proved himself with impressive performances to gain respect as a top prospect. As it stands, he is the top ranked defensive tackle and 13th overall on Mel Kiper Jr.’s 2026 Big Board rankings.

Woods capped a phenomenal season by winning first-team All-ACC accolades. He plays a gem of a resource on his way to recording 30 tackles, 3.5 tackles-for-loss and two sacks. Despite being on a defense-first medium-major squad, he posted excellent offensive numbers this past season. Most impressively, on offense, he scored two rushing touchdowns as a member of goal-line packages. His versatility came through splitting time at tackle and end, showing his natural ability to play multiple positions.

After achieving FWAA Freshman All-America honors this past season in 2023, Woods established himself as one of the foundational pieces of the Clemson defense. His standout play this season cemented his status as the top prospect in the eyes of NFL scouts and analysts.

“It has been an honor to wear the paw these last few years, and it will always be a part of me, but the time has finally come,” Woods stated regarding his decision to enter the draft.

Woods’s move to the pros is shaping up to be a solid one, considering his awards and impact he made on the Clemson Tigers. His blend of size, skill, and football intelligence positions him as a valuable asset for any NFL team looking to bolster its defensive line.
