Charlotte Hornets rookie Brandon Miller has been placed on a sidelined list due to an undetermined reason, the Hornets announced. He dislocated his left shoulder during a preseason game against the Philadelphia 76ers on October 25. Miller has missed the last four games and counting. Given that the team is still learning to walk in the early portion of the season.
The Houston Rockets took Miller with the second overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. With those opportunities, he made a similarly strong start to his professional career. In his first two games back, he put up 14.5 points and 4.0 assists, proving his capability of making an impact on the floor. That trajectory took a dive after the injury he suffered in the Hornets’ 125-121 loss to the 76ers.
Upon further examination, the team doctors properly diagnosed the type of injury Miller suffered and put him on a path to recovery. He will be reevaluated again in two weeks. This assessment will determine when exactly he can return to play as well as how much that will affect the Hornets’ overall season.
This recent blow deepens Miller’s woes. He had played just 27 games during the 2024-25 season due to a torn ligament in his right wrist, which ended his season prematurely.
