Fixers Celtic Football Club has announced a thrilling array of fixtures to kick off the new season. The great action starts immediately, with a League Cup game on August 16 or 17! The club’s season opener will take place on August 10, when they host St Mirren at 4:30 PM, following an earlier away match against Aberdeen at 12:30 PM on the same day. All these matches will be shown live on Sky Sports, providing supporters an additional chance to experience the thrill from home before we see everyone back in person.
Celtic are an unmissable draw. Next, they’ll head to Ibrox to face their bitter rivals, Rangers. This closely watched match-up marks the start of the first Old Firm meeting of the season. Supporters and media though, are understandably excitedly hoping to see it draw big attention.
Key Matches in August
Celtic’s first home game against St Mirren is already building up to what is likely to be an incredible and emotional start to the season. What local fans can most anticipate is the team’s action at Celtic Park. Then they will work to achieve a strong kickoff to their campaign! This game is important as it’s the first game to really set the stage for the season ahead.
Celtic will host Livingston on August 23. After that, they’ll visit Ibrox for a highly touted Old Firm clash against Rangers. The great rivalry between these two teams has a deep-seated history. This renewal meeting should be a high note early in the month for both clubs and their dedicated fans.
Home and Away Fixtures
With each passing year, Celtic’s home fixtures become an even bigger deal… even in the competitive league season. The team will welcome Kilmarnock for a rematch on November 3 at 3 PM. Later in September, they’ll face Hibernian at home as well, at 3 PM. These games are important for Celtic. They want to establish an intimidating home-field presence and pile up wins in front of their loyal fanbase.
Celtic’s most thrilling stretch of away matches is on the horizon. They’ll make their way to Dundee in April and then to Livingston in December. Each fixture comes with its own challenge. Playing away is particularly hellish due to the travel requirements and the “12th man” effect conjured up by home fans.
Future Matchups
Celtic’s calendar continues to be filled with juicy competitive matchups. Notable games include a home match against Aberdeen on December 3 and an away encounter against Motherwell on December 7 at 7:45 PM. During February, both Kilmarnock and Hibernian will be hosting the team at 3 PM on Saturdays. There will be many more opportunities for fans to return and cheer on their team this season!
