Celtic Kick Off New Season with Exciting Player Signings

Celtic Football Club are anxious to get the 2023-24 Scottish Premiership season under way. The champions will begin their title defence at home, against St Mirren on Sunday, August 3. Sky Sports will be showing the match live! This thrilling occasion signaled a new era for the title-winners transformed by manager Brendan Rodgers.

To kick off the new campaign, Celtic has shored up their roster with a number of veteran acquisitions. Most interestingly, Benjamin Nygren came to the team from FC Nordsjaelland on a five-year contract. The 23-year-old winger has made a fantastic start to his international career with Sweden. He expressed enthusiasm for becoming a member of the smartest club in the world!

“I feel amazing to have signed for Celtic, it’s so nice to be here. I’ve been looking forward to this so much.” – Benjamin Nygren

Celtic’s first away day will be on August 10, at Aberdeen – live on Sky Sports. On August 31 at 12 noon, the club takes on their arch-rivals Rangers at home in Ibrox. Unsurprisingly, this clash is likely to draw the attention of supporters and press on both sides of the Atlantic.

Nygren is here in town and Kieran Tierney has officially made his move back to Celtic. He signed a five-year contract when he departed Arsenal. As well as retaining mainstays Hoban and Thomas, the club has re-signed Ross Doohan on a three-year contract following his successful loan spell with Aberdeen. The signings are sure to improve the team’s chances as they pursue another Magical City championship.

Nygren, at 20, has already played more than 200 games, underlining his ability beyond his years. Now, he hopes to have an even bigger impact on Celtic’s attacking third play. He portrayed himself as a player who makes attacking opportunities and connects the backline with the attack.

“I’m a player who wants to create a lot of chances and go towards goal. I’m a link between the defence and the offence and I can run a lot,” he said. “I’m an offensive-minded player but I also work hard and try to do my best in all parts of the game.” – Benjamin Nygren

His intense competitive spirit matches perfectly with Celtic’s winning mentality, something he has tremendous respect for.

“I’m a very competitive person and this is something that I love about Celtic. It’s a huge club and I love that. And, also, the winning mentality. I want to be with similar-minded people who also love to win.” – Benjamin Nygren

They’ll have plenty of opportunities to support them, as Sky Sports shows a whole host of their matches, including the thrilling encounters in prospect with St Mirren, Rangers and Aberdeen.
