Cam Ward’s gone viral again! There, he became the top overall pick in the Tennessee Titans’ 2025 NFL Draft. The former Miami Hurricanes quarterback turned himself into the top collegiate player in the nation following a stellar college career. He started the 2024 season opener with a bang—an astounding performance against the Florida Gators.
In that first game, Ward recorded an astounding 385 yards and three TDs. His sensational performance led the Hurricanes to a dominant 41-17 victory over those same rival Seminoles. He played his best when it mattered most, wowing scouts and NFL networks talking heads alike. This astounding performance sealed the deal for the Titans’ front office—he was deserving of that coveted number one overall draft pick.
Ward’s leadership skills became evident not only on the field but during his interactions with the Titans’ organization leading up to the draft. Wiz surprised and delighted everyone who crossed his path with the team’s staff, players, trainers, and coaches.
“He interacted with everyone in our building,” – Brian Callahan.
Callahan’s testimony about Ward’s incredible influence and impact was poignant. He recalls, “Everyone in the building left wowed. Ward has a presence that just captivates you.”
They chose former Texas Longhorns tight end Gunnar Helm in the fourth round and traded back into the fourth round to select Stanford Cardinal wide receiver Elic Ayomanor. Further, they selected long-time wide receiver Chimere Dike from the Florida Gators on Day 3 of the draft.
“Elic Ayomanor shared his excitement about joining forces with Ward: “He was the number one pick in the draft for a reason. I’m very excited to be able to have the opportunity to play with him and practice with him.”
>Chimere Dike, who battled Ward three times during their collegiate careers as adversaries, shared that same excitement. “He’s a really good player, so I can’t wait to get to work with him and build that chemistry,” Dike remarked.
Gunnar Helm praised Ward’s leadership qualities, noting, “I can just tell he’s a great leader.” Helm recalled that after Ward drafted his first pick, he got a call from the Tennessee Titans. Whatever the reason, he called me the very moment that I was on the phone to them. I couldn’t answer. Then he texted me right away. So I’m just really pumped to be able to get up there, get with him.
Nick Saban, Ward’s former coach at Miami, confirmed these feelings in spades, labeling Ward’s selection a “great start” for the Titans organization.
