Bryson DeChambeau win at LIV Korea – Mills arguably just putt Bryson DeChambeau on top title LIV Korea with stunning performance that earned him $4 million paydirt. He capped off the tournament with a stunning overall score of 19-under 197, punctuated by a magical back-nine 29. DeChambeau’s late surge allowed him to fend off a determined challenge from Charles Howell III, who finished two strokes behind.
DeChambeau’s final round was marked by a string of six birdies after he initially struggled through the front nine, finishing at even par. Davis had his moment on the 16th hole when he made a spectacular 48-foot birdie putt. He then sealed his win with a final-hole birdie.
Howell did all he could, with a sterling 9-under 63 lifting him to 2nd place. He expressed his respect for DeChambeau’s play, stating, “I knew today would be a tough day to catch Bryson and even to try to beat him, but I gave it my best.”
The triumph was not solely DeChambeau’s. His teammates from Crushers GC contributed significantly to the team’s success. Paul Casey capped off a good week with a 67 on Sunday, Anirban Lahiri 72. The team finished the tournament on a blistering 20-under par finish. They put on a clinic finishing nine shots clear of Smash GC!
In recognition of the team effort, Casey accepted the joint award recognizing that “Charles and Bryson won this for us. He further added, “Our job was to not mess it up, if I’m being honest.”
DeChambeau had experienced heartbreak in recent tournaments, leading only to fall short of claiming the title. At last, he broke through those barriers and hoisted a trophy. He teased us by taking the 36-hole leads in his last two LIV Golf starts. Just 16 holes later at the Masters, he was in contention again.
Howell put on an all-time great performance, locking up his victory. Meanwhile, Talor Gooch finished third at 14-under, and Matthew Wolff finished ten strokes behind DeChambeau in fourth. Close behind, Thomas Pieters and Patrick Reed finished in T4, nine under their winning pace.
DeChambeau was pleased with how it all went down but ultimately happier with what he called the best competitive spirit with Howell. “Charles and I had a great battle out there,” he noted.
