Brandon Aiyuk, the 49ers dynamic young wideout, has deepened his financial relationship with the San Francisco 49ers. He signed a big four-year, $120-million-dollar extension. This significant agreement ensures Aiyuk’s presence in San Francisco through the 2025 season, reinforcing the team’s confidence in his abilities despite recent challenges.
Aiyuk’s career began when he was selected 25th overall by the 49ers in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. During his five seasons in the league, he has wowed fans grading monster skill and consistency. Aiyuk has been incredibly productive too, tallying 294 receptions for 4,305 yards. Naturally, with 25 touchdowns under his belt, he has established himself as a key threat in the team’s offensive arsenal.
The 2023 season proved to be the pinnacle of Aiyuk’s young career. He had 75 receptions, 1,342 yards, and seven receiving touchdowns. His 2024 season success came to a jarring stop when he was injured in a horrific car wreck. In October 2024, Aiyuk completely tore both the ACL and MCL in his right knee, hindering his production tremendously. By necessity, he ended the campaign with just 25 receptions for 374 yards and no scores.
However, even amidst this adversity, the San Francisco 49ers have shown through their massive contract extension that they are all in on Aiyuk’s long term future. This move not only secures his role on the team but reflects their belief in his ability to recover and return to form. Aiyuk is set to receive a $22.85 million bonus on Tuesday, further underscoring the franchise’s dedication to retaining his talents.
