Bengals Tight End Mike Gesicki Prepares for Broncos After Slow Start

Cincinnati Bengals’ tight end Mike Gesicki is set to take the field against the Denver Broncos after facing a sluggish start to the season. This offseason, Gesicki signed an expensive three-year, $25.5 million contract with the Bengals. So far, though, he’s had a hard time making an impact, recording just five catches for 38 yards through the first three games.

Head coach Zac Taylor addressed concerns about Gesicki’s performance, expressing confidence in the veteran tight end’s ability to contribute. Taylor was sure to stress that Gesicki’s lack of production isn’t a slight on his hustle or talent.

“It hasn’t been Mike’s fault,” Taylor said on the difficult test the team’s dealt with this season. He said that he wanted to see more from Gesicki moving forward. He is not downcast about his own performance. It’s just the nature of how the games have played out,” he said.

The Bengals have their sights set on the visiting Denver Broncos. Gesicki will be accompanied by tight ends Cam Grandy and Drew Sample for the exhibition match up. The trio aims to provide options for quarterback Joe Burrow as they navigate through a critical part of the season.

Taylor reinforced his belief in Gesicki’s potential, indicating that he remains optimistic about the tight end’s contributions in upcoming games.
