Bayern Munich Eyes Luis Diaz as Left-Wing Target

Bayern Munich were reported to have Diaz on their list of targets as the club look to strengthen their left-wing options. The 28-year-old footballer and Liverpool aficionado would definitely be a great addition to the squad. Bayern Munich is just one of his options according to several reports. At least so far, they have not made a formal approach to Liverpool for Diaz.

Luis Diaz’s impressive performance last season saw him score 13 goals and provide five assists, contributing significantly to Liverpool’s Premier League title victory. Since arriving from FC Porto for a fee potentially rising to £49 million in January 2022, Diaz has made a huge impact on the team by his quality. He similarly contributed in league play, bagging 41 goals over 148 appearances—all competitions combined. His most popular accomplishments came by way of winning the Premier League, the FA Cup, and two League Cups with the club.

Interest from Multiple Clubs

Barcelona tried to sign Diaz earlier this month, but that offer was eventually turned away. Al Nassr have been keen on getting the Cameroonian left-winger on board as well. Diaz has caught the attention of the world’s top clubs with his dazzling dribbling and hounding of defenders. That sort of attention only serves to highlight his tremendous value-add in today’s transfer market.

Even with all the clubs making their interest known, Diaz has displayed no interest in leaving Liverpool. He stated, “I’m very, very happy in Liverpool. From day one, they’ve made me feel really welcome.” This sentiment underscores his level of commitment to the club. He works tirelessly to support their longterm success.

Contract Situation and Future Plans

His contract with Liverpool goes until 2027. That allows the club an abundance of time to assess his long-term outlook. Describing his own ordeal, he remarked, “I’m simply playing the waiting game to see what unfolds. But Liverpool can make a powerful offer. If not, well then I can live with them just fine for two more years. What’s more, he’s reportedly open to remaining with the organization in some capacity. While he’s lamenting this lost opportunity, he’s busy seeing the promise of other offers and their opportunities.

Liverpool supporters will be excited to see Diaz run riot next season. With 80 percent of all televised Premier League games on Sky Sports they’ll never have to! As one of the premier left-footers in the league and a prominent left-winger to boot, his games will be must see.
