At the other end of the spectrum, Indian cricket has enjoyed a double delight in recent weeks. The country rejoiced at their second World Cup win in a month, but suffered a loss in Test match cricket. India had just lost a Test series to South Africa 2-0, with the Proteas beating them by an incredible 408 runs. The captaincy of Temba Bavuma has brought great success to South Africa. Indeed, only one man has won 11 out of 12 matches since he took charge!

Gautam Gambhir is the new Indian team head coach. He adeptly manoeuvres through the difficult terrain and tumultuous waters of international cricket. Looking back, the Test series was particularly frustrating for a young team. That was until their recent World Cup victory rewarded Indian cricket fans with a cracker of a weekend!

Further, the first-ever Blind Women’s T20 World Cup was just recently completed and it featured some of the best athletes from all over the world. India’s historic win in this first-of-its-kind tournament underscored the country’s dedication to breaking down barriers to inclusivity and diversity in sporting communities.
