On July 11, 2025, the Atlanta Hawks announced that they have signed forward Nikola Đurišić. At 21 years old, the player still booming with potential stands 6′8. He was selected 43rd overall in the 2024 NBA Draft by the Oklahoma City Thunder. His incredible productivity while playing in the NBA G League turned heads across the country. He is no stranger to eye-catching performances, and that’s what got him to this contract.
Back in June 2024, Nikola Đurišić’s trip to the Hawks started. The team obtained his rights in an exhilarating three-way trade with the Miami Heat and Houston Rockets. Before coming to the NBA, Đurišić showed off his scoring potential with Mega in the Adriatic League. In the 2023-24 season, he ranked sixth in the league in scoring, averaging 15.4 points per game over 30 games.
Đurišić did just that during the most recent G League campaign with the College Park Skyhawks. He put in the effort to earn his craft and raise his level of play. He has appeared in 32 games, averaging 10.5 points (career high), 3.1 rebounds and 3.5 assists on 48.5 percent shooting. His performance indicated a promising trajectory, making him a valuable addition to the Hawks’ roster.
Đurišić’s signing fits the Hawks’ recent strategy of improving their roster through the acquisition of raw, young talent with major upside. He’s a quality defender on both ends of the court and brings valuable experience from high-pressure environments like the Adriatic League and G-League. It’s that exceptional history which has given him a solid platform from which to succeed in the NBA.
The Hawks are hopeful that Đurišić will make a fast transition to the rigors of professional basketball in the United States.
